Now that Marvel vs Capcom is coming back, Capcom has revamped the popular fighter for a new generation. The title was a hit and its eventual departure filled many with sadness. These range from Phoenix Wright, to exciting heroes like Rocket Raccoon. Even though some people were underwhelmed by the original, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 added a lot of exciting changes. Capcom: Infinite coming next year, this is as good as it’s going to get.When Marvel vs Capcom 3 was originally announced, there was a lot of excitement and wonder at what it would have to offer. It is also just a port however, and it doesn’t really bring anything new to the table, so don’t expect any additional bells and whistles here. Capcom 3 on the PS4 is an excellent port of one of the most popular fighting games available.

Offline mode is tons of fun playing with friends or competitors locally, and while online mode’s netcode is still not perfect, it allows players to duke it out with minimum lag (as long as the ping is low between the two, as always). Still, it’s all good, and if playing with others is your thing, you’ll be doing plenty of it here. Capcom: Official Complete Works book, so that’s good news. With the port some new features should have been added, but at the moment, it’s the same game already seen on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game does lack substantial game modes, and while this game is all about kinetic combat with dozens of projectiles flying all around the screen, additional modes would have added some spark to the game, like a proper story mode that doesn’t rely on text boxes to say everything. Mode (which comes in both the offline and online variety), and training modes designed to let players perfect their combos and come up with new ones to devastate their foes in impressive ways.īut here is also where the game’s flaws lie, as there’s really not much to do here other than fight.
It also comes with your standard Arcade Mode, Vs. The game is tons of fun, and the nice and wide selection of characters, tag team options, and strategies really add a level of depth to an experience not found in your typical 1v1 fighters. While it doesn’t bring anything new to the table, the combat is still entertaining. The game is easy to pick up and play for newcomers, but the wide range of combos and strategies can easily have veterans overpower opponents with advanced tactics and a flurry of hits that’ll have them wishing they can smash their controller or fight stick to bits.
The action is fast and furious, with simple bread and butter combos, combos that can juggle opponents and keep them taking damage until they are knocked out, tag attacks that bring in team members for assists or hyper combos or to switch a character in, an X-Factor meter that powers up fighters and heals some damage, and more. Once again, players get to choose from a vast and varied group of fighters from both Marvel and Capcom camps – most of which are well known characters and some which are obscure fan favorites – and jump onto 2.5D stages to beat the living pulp out of each other in 3v3 battles.
